Displaying the Learn More Panel

How to render the Learn more panel from the quote response if you build your own quoting UI, with a field reference, an example response and layout ideas.

The Learn more panel explains the cover to your guest before they buy. If you integrate through the API, you don't write this copy yourself. Every quote response includes the panel's content, already filled in with that quote's trigger, hours, weather station and price.

Where the content is

The panel's fields are in the quote response at:

quote.template_message.content.plainLanguage.learn_more

Each field is plain text, ready to display. Render it as returned and skip any field your layout doesn't use.

📘

Don't hard-code the copy. When WeatherIt updates wording, for example after a compliance review, your site picks it up on the next quote with no release on your side. Copy pasted into your codebase goes stale.

Field reference

FieldWhat it isFilled from the quote
section_titleHeading of the panelNo
overlay_titleOptional banner or overlay headingNo
step1_title … step4_titleTitles of the four “how it works” stepsNo
step1_body … step4_bodyText under each stepNo
coverage_descriptionWhat triggers a claim: rainfall amount, qualifying hours and cover timesYes: trigger, hours, times
measurement_locationThe weather station used and its distance. Names the national weather service for AU and NZYes: station, distance
rain_descriptionPlain-language description of the rain levelNo
offer_0_summary, offer_1__summaryOne-line price and payout summary per option. Note the double underscore in offer_1__summaryYes: premium, daily payout
button_offer_0_text, button_offer_1_textButton labels for each optionYes: option name
distributor_disclosureRequired disclosure. Show it wherever the cover is offeredNo

Offers follow option order. offer_0_summary and button_offer_0_text describe pricing_options[0], and the offer_1 fields describe pricing_options[1].

Keys starting with an underscore are actions, not text. For example, _button_offer_0_text_action is add_to_cart. Use it to wire up the button and don't display it.

Which version is shown

Any field can have its own version for your brand, a region or a channel. WeatherIt returns the most specific version that matches the quote:

Partner → State → Country → Channel → Product → Event type → Standard wording

For example, measurement_location names the Bureau of Meteorology for Australian quotes and MetService for New Zealand quotes. If you need wording tailored to your brand, contact your WeatherIt Account Manager with the field name. Changes reach new quotes within about an hour.

Checklist

  • Read the panel's text from learn_more on every quote. Don't store it from an earlier quote.
  • Show distributor_disclosure wherever the cover is offered.
  • Keep coverage_description and measurement_location together. They tell the guest what triggers a claim and where rain is measured.
  • Match offer fields to pricing_options by index.
  • Don't display keys that start with an underscore.

See the API Integration Guide for the end-to-end flow, and the API Reference for the full quote schema.
